High temperature sensors from TESONA

Using the high temperature sensor from TESONA, the measurement values are captured with special thermocouples which have been designed for the demanding requirements in the automotive sector.

Using a specially developed modular system, both an exact specification and diverse customer-specific adaptations can be achieved. This allows the temperature sensors to be adapted to a wide range of different installation dimensions, various duty classes for extreme temperatures or aggressive media, as well as for specific cable lengths or signal outputs.

Different digital interfaces are available for customer-side integration – currently there is a choice between PWM, SENT and CAN (according to SAE J1939). Both the electronics unit and the entire temperature sensor correspond to the protection class IP6K9K (with mating plug).

Temperature measurements within the range from -40 to 1200°C are possible with the temperature sensor. From the characteristics described, therefore it is possible to place the sensor in the exhaust pipe at any desired location. For example, manufacturers of high-performance vehicles place a temperature sensor in the exhaust manifold, before the exhaust gas turbocharger. Using such a sensor, it is possible to receive a warning of excessively high temperatures which can damage the turbocharger, for example. A further use scenario is the combination of two sensor elements on a petrol engine upstream and downstream of a GPF (Gasoline Particulate Filter) . Because since the EURO 6c standard for exhaust emissions came into force, a considerable proportion of direct-injected petrol engines must also be fitted with particle filters. Especially here, the technology impresses with its particularly high measurement accuracy.

Typical applications of our sensors are:
Exhaust gas system, exhaust gas line, diesel particulate filters, GPF gasoline particulate, gasoline soot filter, turbocharger, powertrain, exhaust pipe, off-highway and. heavy-duty applications, diesel oxidation catalyst, petrol particulate filter, particulate filters, exhaust gas manifold

Flame sensor WT 600

The temperature sensor is based on a passive resistance element of the type PT 1000. This allows the temperature sensor to react to temperature changes with different resistance values. In the sensor itself, platinum serves as the resistance material, which is highly suitable for this purpose due to its nominal resistance of 1000 Ohm at 0 °C (PT 1000).

Thanks to its simple design, this sensor can also be designed in various lengths and can also be bent to from 0 to 90 degrees. A sealing flange specially designed for the customer application guarantees a high durability, even under the toughest environmental conditions on and in the exhaust pipe.
